Take a journey back in time as one of our vintage steam-hauled trains meanders its way from Kidderminster, famous in the past for its carpet industry, to the ancient riverside town of Bewdley with its quaint quayside, its gardens and lovely Georgian architecture.
Then onto the timeless village of Arley, next to the River Severn; through to Highley from where you will be able to visit The Engine House Visitor Centre, which our reserve collection of steam locomotive. Then on through to Hampton Loade to our northern terminus at Bridgnorth, Shropshire’s gem of a medieval market town.
Travelling as a pre-booked group not only provides a discount on your ticket price but it also includes reserved seating in our trains when your group spends the day together travelling from one end of the line to other (certain special event days excluded).
Group travel is available for pre-booked groups of fifteen or more adults/seniors travelling together either from Kidderminster or Bridgnorth.

The Engine House Visitor and Education Centre
Midway along the line, the Visitor Centre is a great place to break your journey. The Engine House features our reserve collection of steam locomotives and a full exhibition about the SVR. A visit to Buffers Café Restaurant is not to be missed with its stunning views of the railway and the Severn Valley (fully licensed).There is also a well-stocked gift-shop, children’s play area and picnic area here. Guided tours and pre-booked catering options, at additional cost, are also available on off peak dates.

Combination Visits
Arranged in partnership with other leading Midland attractions, combination visits feature a single train journey along the length of the Severn Valley Railway from either Kidderminster or Bridgnorth with a trip by your own coach to the attractions listed.
Victorian and Steam
Step back more than a century and explore the homes, workplaces and shops in this recreated Victorian town set in the beautiful Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site at Ironbridge in Shropshire. Chat to the townsfolk about their lives, buy curious products in the chemists or the drapers and enjoy a pint of ale in the local pub. |
