 Less-able Visitors
We do NOT allow discounts for less-able passengers themselves, but we do offer a discount for carers who accompany and assist the less-able person during their visit. The discounted fare offered to carers is equivalent to the child-member rate for the journey (approx half the adult rate). One 'carer fare' is permitted per less-able person travelling. 'Carer fares' are only available from the Booking Office on the day of your visit.

When the Railway reopens in August 2020, there will be no carer concessions during the revised service.

Dog tickets must be purchased; these cost £3.00 each for any journey, single or return.

However they may NOT travel in dining cars, and are NOT allowed on the seats or tables in our carriages.
They ARE admitted to The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley, but only on the ground floor, i.e. not on the first floor where the Highley Cafe is situated.

Assistance dogs travel free on our trains.

Cycles, pushchairs and buggies
Cycles, pushchairs and buggies are carried free of charge, but MUST be placed in the guard's compartment or as directed by the train crew.

Local Residents Railcard - reduced rate travel for our neighbours
For purchase in advance, our Local Residents Railcard entitles the holder, together with one other person (adult or child) to travel on Severn Valley Railway scheduled trains at the child rate (under 4’s travel free) and receive concessionary admission to The Engine House, where applicable.
Available to our neighbours with the following postcodes: DY10, DY11, DY12, DY13, DY14, WV15, WV16.

£30 per year. Available from our Comberton Place, Kidderminster offices in person only. Not available from our Stations.
The Local Residents Railcard must be produced when tickets are purchased either at one of our stations or at The Engine House admission desk. The Company will not issue refunds against tickets that have been purchased at the full price as a result of the Railcard not being produced when tickets were purchased.

Local Residents Railcards are NOT valid for travel or concessionary Engine House admission, on dates shown as ‘Special Events’ in our published calendar when revised fares apply but are valid on dates shown as ‘Special Events’ when normal fares apply.

Not valid on Ghost Trains or Santa Experiences, fare-inclusive dining trains, charter trains and any other trains that do not appear in the SVR’s public timetable.

Proof of eligibility in the form of two utility bills and a current driving licence will be required at the time of purchase, together with one passport style photograph. Please allow 10 days for the delivery.
