Each day, our popular excursion trains give you the opportunity to explore the full length of the line and visit The Engine House Visitor Centre without the worry of having to plan your day.

To keep you safe, you will have your own private compartment or socially distanced table for the whole day and an exciting itinerary to enjoy! Whilst we're operating excursion trains, you cannot switch trains during the day.

Members, Shareholders and Loyalty Pass holders must pre-book their table or compartment in advance. You will need to enter your unique number to receive a discount at the checkout.
Any additional travellers not covered by your pass or ticket will be charged on arrival at the Booking Office.
Tickets may also be purchased at the same price by calling 01562 757900 (option 1). 
These tickets are not available for purchase from booking offices in advance.

Loyalty Pass 2021 - enjoy 15 months’ unlimited visits for the price of 12 with the all-new LOYALTY PASS, including FREE entry to the Engine House Visitor Centre.
Our LOYALTY PASS offers great value to those looking to make repeat visits in a single year to the Severn Valley Railway, permitting one or two named adults (plus up to four children aged 4 - 15 in the case of the family pass) to travel as many times as they wish on our normal services through the year.

In addition it also gives you 15% discounts on purchases from our refreshment rooms (excludes alcohol) and gift shops, access to reduced price tickets for some special timetable events (galas and Step Back to the 1940s weekends) and priority booking for extra-special events such as Santa, Steam in Lights and Halloween.

The LOYALTY PASS is available to buy in advance online, over the telephone, from our station booking offices in Kidderminster, Bewdley or Bridgnorth or from our Visitor Services Department at Comberton Place in Kidderminster. Our brand new Loyalty Pass is a great way to visit the Severn Valley Railway as many times as you like during a 12-month period.

Dog tickets must be purchased; these cost £3.00 each for any journey, single or return.

However they may NOT travel in dining cars, and are NOT allowed on the seats or tables in our carriages.
They ARE admitted to The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley, but only on the ground floor, i.e. not on the first floor where the Highley Cafe is situated.

Assistance dogs travel free on our trains.

Cycles, pushchairs and buggies
Cycles, pushchairs and buggies are carried free of charge, but MUST be placed in the guard's compartment or as directed by the train crew.

When the Railway reopens in April 2021, tickets will not be available from your local station.

When the Railway reopens in 2021, concessions are available. Tickets will be available to purchase on the day only, at the SVR Member's rate. Discounts are not available on special event tickets.

Terms & Conditions
  1. Refunds, changes and exchanges of pre-booked tickets will not be considered.
  2. The Severn Valley Railway does not guarantee that trains will depart or arrive at a particular time and will not be held liable for any delay to the service or any inconvenience this may cause.
  3. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, we cancel your tickets, we will transfer your booking to another date or refund the monies paid by you, including the booking fee. We will NOT be liable for any other costs.
  4. If you fail to arrive in time for the departure of your train WILL NOT refund any monies paid.
  5. If you are unable to travel to the SVR as a result of severe weather or illness we DO NOT offer a refund or replacement tickets.
  6. We will NOT refund or make allowances for the cost of returning unused tickets to us. It is for you to decide on the most effective way of returning unused tickets and you are required to bear the cost.
  7. We will NOT carry forward the face value of any unused tickets from one year to the next.
  8. Our staff are NOT empowered to vary these conditions.
All pre-booked tickets are subject to a £2 booking fee, applied at the checkout.

The Severn Valley Railway Covid Guarantee
We understand that booking advance tickets is a big commitment especially with the current uncertainty that surrounds the COVID pandemic, but we think everyone needs something exciting to look forward to.

That’s why we’re backing your advance booking with the SVR Covid Guarantee. This gives you the peace of mind to book tickets for your next visit to the Railway, knowing that whatever happens with the ongoing Covid  situation, your tickets remain safe. As well as regular tickets, the SVR Covid  Guarantee also cover special event tickets.

What does the SVR Covid Guarantee mean?

You will be entitled to transfer your tickets to an equivalent event or date (where available) or to receive a full refund (excluding booking and administration fees) if:
  • The Severn Valley Railway cancels the eventGovernment restrictions means you cannot travel
  • You, or a member of your party, test positive for Covid-19 or are required to isolate
Terms and Conditions
  1. You must phone us before your date of travel on 01562 757900 to arrange the transfer of your tickets or your refund. We cannot accept transfers or refunds by email.If you wish to transfer your tickets to another event with a higher value, you must pay the difference.
  2. If you wish to transfer to an event of lower value, we will send you a non-exchangeable voucher to cover the difference.
  3. Freedom of the Line Tickets, loyalty passes and dated vouchers will not be refundable, but where you are unable to use these because of the Covid pandemic, we will extend them for the months that have been missed.
  4. Our usual booking terms and conditions remain unchanged and you can view these here.
  5. The SVR Covid Guarantee is available until further notice and the Severn Valley Railway reserves the right to amend it at any time.
  6. The SVR Covid Guarantee does not extend to third party bookings. If you booked your visit via a coach party, travel company, holiday agent or other party, please contact them directly to discuss your booking.
