We're back up and running!
Peep peep! We're back up and running!
After six weeks of maintenance and hard work behind the scenes, the Severn Valley Railway is back! Since January 7th, we've relaid track, replaced sleepers, reinforced one of our viaducts, painted a 'Pannier Tank' and cleaned our stations.
Steam trains are steaming along every day from Saturday 16th February until Sunday 24th February, and we have a few exciting things for you to look out for!
Family day out for £49!
Bring your family along (one or two adults and up to four children) for a whole day out on the Severn Valley Railway for just £49. Not only does this give you unlimited travel on our heritage trains, but also includes FREE entry into The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley and access to FREE activities in there too. How good does that sound?
Relaunch of No. 75069!
Having not steamed in over 20 years, British Railways Standard 4 No. 75069 will pull its first passenger train in over two decades on Saturday 16th February.
Hauling the 10.30am service from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster, the sparkling black locomotive is sure to be an amazing sight! The engine will continue in service on February 17th, 23rd & 24th, on the following trains:
Bridgnorth departures: 10.30am & 2.30pm
Kidderminster departures: 12.40pm & 4.40pm
Two for one!
Another steamy special; whilst a new locomotive enters service at the northern end of the line, we thought the south end of the line needed something special too - a double-header! Pannier Tank No. 7714 and 119-year-old No. 813 will work in tandem hauling the first train of the 2019 season from Kidderminster. The pair will haul the following services:
- Kidderminster departures: 10am & 2.00pm
- Bridgnorth departures: 11.50am & 3.50pm
In addition to double-headers and new engines, both weekends AND the midweek Feb 18th -22nd will see an all-steam service - how exciting!
Bridgnorth as you've never seen it!
The much anticipated new Refreshment Room will be open daily, as well as our larger, improved main carpark to the West of Bridgnorth Station. If you bought shares in our 2016 Share Offer, come and see the amazing changes you have made possible.
