Step Back to 1940s discounts for shareholders, loyalty pass holder and members
Whilst we are pleased that it will be possible to run our Step Back to the 1940’s weekends (June 26th-27th, July 3rd-4th
), the event will have a 43% reduction in capacity because of the ongoing government restrictions and social distancing regulations.
In order to safely manage passengers, we are continuing to implement social distancing measures which have drastically reduced the number of people who can attend the event.
We understand that volunteers, members, shareholders and loyalty pass holders have been entitled to free tickets and discounts at this event in the past. In order to keep the Railway viable in 2021, we have decided to charge for all tickets at this event, alongside offering a limited number of discounted tickets.
We realise this is disappointing for some of you, however this has to be how we operate so we can cover the cost of running the event. In light of this, we are limiting the number of discounted tickets available to volunteers, members, shareholders and loyalty pass holders; a maximum of 50 reduced-price compartment tickets for the event will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot afford to offer any more than this.
Just a reminder that volunteers, shareholders and loyalty pass holders are entitled to 65% off for the Spring Steam Up
and Spring Diesel Bash
events, as well as unlimited free travel on our excursion trains. In 2020, the number of shareholder and loyalty pass spaces were restricted, this is not the case this year. Members also receive their 33% discounts on both the enthusiast special events and on excursion trains.
We hope you can appreciate the difficult position we are in and we thank you for your support in purchasing membership, shares or loyalty passes, and your continued understanding.
We all hope that as the vaccine is rolled out and government restrictions ease we will be able to get back to normal later this year or in 2022.
