The Severn Valley Railway offers over 16 miles of scenic English countryside, stunning heritage stations, a large collection of historic locomotives, carriages and wagons from the 1900s, bridges, viaducts and tunnels, as well as facilities including a carriage shed, locomotive works and visitor centre which are suitable for indoor filming. We also are connected to the national rail network so can be easily accessed.
The Severn Valley Railway is renowned for its versatility in film and TV productions, notably featuring in ’28 Days Later’, ‘Enola Holmes’, ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ and ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’, as well as in advertisements, documentaries, and even music videos.

We are proud to own and operate a stunning collection of heritage railway stations along the Severn Valley Railway, stretching from Kidderminster in Worcestershire to Bridgnorth in Shropshire. Each station along the line, from the beautifully preserved Victorian architecture of Arley and Highley to the heritage charm of Bewdley, offers a unique and authentic setting. Our terminus station at Kidderminster also provides a direct link with the national rail network.
The Severn Valley Railway is also home to one of the UK’s most extensive collections of operational steam and heritage diesel locomotives, as well as vintage carriages spanning from the Victorian era through to the modern day. Whether you’re looking to recreate Edwardian elegance, wartime Britain, or the 21st century, the SVR offers unmatched versatility.
